When it comes to single-use bottled beverages, the majority of COGS include bottling, processing, and logistics. Meanwhile, interest in reusable bottles has skyrocketed in recent years as evidenced by the viral Stanley water bottles that have grown the company from $70mm to $750mm in four years. While solutions like SodaStream solve the at-home use case, on-the-go ones like Cirkul have yet to figure out how to solve for carbonated drinks. Over the past five years, Aerflo has been stealthily working on a solution to bridge the gap between reusable bottles and sparkling beverages by inventing its portable Aer₁ System that allows consumers to transform still water into sparkling anywhere, anytime. This week, the startup officially launched the product on its website for $99 and HNGRY had the pleasure of sitting down with Co-Founder and Co-CEO John Thorp to get a firsthand look (and sip).
